Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC)

The Federal Ministry of Education’s EIBIC programme integrates enterprise learning with degree study. Its design combines practical training, mentoring and incubation, with an entrepreneurship certificate alongside the academic qualification.

Delivery in context

Participating universities form the initial network. The programme’s purpose is to help students develop ventures; participation alone is not evidence that a business has received funding or created employment.

Enterprise alongside a university degree

The Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Incubation Certification programme embeds enterprise development within university education. It is designed to begin early in a student’s academic journey and continue alongside the degree, with a recognised entrepreneurship credential on completion.

The programme combines business strategy, leadership, innovation and practical enterprise development. Incubation and mentorship are intended to help students move from an interest or idea towards a workable venture. Its purpose is to make entrepreneurship a sustained learning pathway rather than an isolated event shortly before graduation.

Delivery through participating universities

Universities in the initial cohort provide the institutional route into EIBIC. Participation and availability depend on the programme’s rollout at the relevant institution; the national launch does not establish that every university is already delivering it.

For students, the opportunity lies in developing business knowledge while retaining their core academic education. Completion of the programme, access to incubation and the creation of a viable business are separate milestones. The programme supports that progression without guaranteeing that every participant will secure finance or establish a successful company.
