State and Local Government Allocations

States and local governments across Nigeria have received significantly higher revenue following the Tinubu administration's reforms to federation finances.

In 2024, state revenue rose substantially compared with the preceding period. This gives governors and local government councils greater capacity than ever to fund services and infrastructure in their communities.

More resources for every tier of government

The administration's fiscal reforms have increased the resources distributed through the Federation Account. Higher allocations give state and local governments more room to meet their own responsibilities, from primary healthcare and basic education to roads, water and sanitation close to where people live.
