His Excellency, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari

Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly. A former governor of Zamfara State, he has held positions in party organisation, state government and the Senate.

Yari was elected Governor of Zamfara State in 2011 and returned for a second term in 2015. Before his governorship, his political career included leadership of the All Nigeria Peoples Party in the state.

He also chaired the Nigeria Governors' Forum, a body through which state governors discuss shared administrative and policy concerns. His current senatorial representation is distinct from his campaign responsibility: the supplied council roster appoints him Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council.
