Yari visits the Shehu of Borno in Maiduguri for Council consultations

Senator Abdulaziz Yari paid homage to His Royal Highness, the Shehu of Borno, at his palace in Maiduguri on 15 September 2026 during the Presidential Campaign Council’s continuing consultations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to listen and exchange perspectives on peace, unity and national development. It brought the Council’s campaign assignment into a setting where traditional leadership and community relationships shape public conversation.

Yari emphasised the importance of respectful engagement as the Renewed Hope message reaches communities. The visit formed part of a wider programme of contact with traditional, religious and other stakeholder institutions.

The Maiduguri engagement placed peace and national development at the heart of the Council’s conversation with the traditional institution. Respect for community leadership formed part of the approach to discussing the Renewed Hope mandate.
